With the Olympics and Euro Championships fast approaching our company is even more acutely aware that we are a truly global company, with many nationalities represented within our community. Whilst not wanting to curtail any national pride, during this time, we are also aware that ‘some sporting events’ do give rise to an overflow of emotions and national fervour.

To this end the following will be implemented across all sites.

Flags
We are encouraging flags to be flown at desks however in keeping with standardisation policies we will be supplying every desk with a nice black, red and gold flag. We truly hope this splash of colour will brighten the workplace and heighten the atmosphere.

TVs
Wide screen TV’s will be fitted in all break out rooms. As all football games are evening starts we will show looped re-runs of the following:
09/06 – vs Portugal
13/06 – vs Holland
17/06 – vs Denmark
During the Olympics all TVs will be re- tuned to Setanta Eurosport to show unrivalled coverage of our medal hopes in Handball and Dressage.

Dress code
After the successful FA Cup ‘dress down Fridays’, when staff were encouraged to wear their football shirts, our company is all for fans also ‘showing their true colours’ during the forthcoming events.
However in keeping with company rules we are aware that some of our staff may feel isolated, and possibly intimidated, by the tribalistic nature this sometimes brings out. Therefore only (neutral) white football shirts will be allowed, provided they are made by Adidas and have DFB or GDR as the insignia.

Games entertainment
To recreate the atmosphere those lucky fans, who are there, will be experiencing, we’re encouraging anyone who plays an instrument to play at all sites during lunch times. These mini bands will be playing such classics as
- Theme tune from Das Boot
- Ride Of The Valkyries
- And the complete back catalogue of David Hasslehoff ‘hits’

Finally
here are a couple of helpful phrases and chants to help you immerse yourself in the occasion.
- Kommen Sie auf Sie whites (come on you whites)
- Drei Streifen auf einem Hemd. Jules Rimet glänzend noch (3 stripes on a shirt. Jules Rimet still gleaming)
