@Arnie:
Another reason for the disappearing of the truckers is also the shortage of the oil recourses of our earth; it is getting to be even more expensive to drive a car or a truck with such a huge amount of wastage.
Ist aber schwierig deine Arbeit, da kein Zeitrahmen vorgegeben ist.

03.02.2011, 22:28 #21What jobs will disappear
In future the job of a trucker will disappear. In fact there are many reasons why this will happen. The first thing is that our technology level increases daily so in the future there will be computer controlled self driving trucks, which have maybe just one person who sits in a surveillance room and takes care about a lot of trucks. So a company just needs to pay for one guard instead of paying a whole group of truckers, what highly increases the economy. Machines are believed to be safer because they always make the right decisions, so human errors are history, as example a driver who drives the whole night without sleep will get in danger to fell asleep momentarily and will have serious consequences like a big car accident. The next point is that with these machines it is possible to program them that they will drive with maybe just a meter gap and also the ability to drive very fast caused of the trucks can communicate together and always know what’s happening before and behind them. This fact causes, that all trucks react exactly at the same time and crashes get prevented, even with this very little safety distance. So it’s just like a train with the simple difference that this „train“ drive on the street so there are lot more ways to drive to the destination. The “truck trains” will be able to drive twenty-four hours on seven days a week which increases the productivity immensely. These programs will be able to minimize the happening of congestions because of trucks tremendously.
Another reason for the disappearing of the truckers is the shortage of the oil recourses of our earth; it is getting to be even more expensive to drive a car or a truck with such a huge amount of wastage and now no one knows when alternative fuels are ready for trucks.
Trucker is a very low paid job with bad conditions they drive five or six days per week and have just a few days free time to spend time with families and friends so the incentive to become one is getting smaller and smaller.
So therefore the job of a trucker will disappear maybe not in the near future but it will happen.

What job maybe disappear in the future
In my opinion the job of a truck driver will disappear in future. In fact there are some reason why this could be. On one hand the technology level increases day by day, so there will be computer controlled self driving trucks one day.
...

Ansehen ?

Finale Version:
What jobs will disappear
In my opinion the job of a trucker will disappear in the future. In fact there are some reason why this could be. The first thing is that our technology level increases daily so in the future there will be computer controlled self driving trucks, which are supervised by maybe just one person who sits in a surveillance room and takes care about a lot of trucks via remote control. So a company just needs to pay for one guard instead of paying a whole group of truckers, what highly increases the economy what is a very important point, since the very big business competition between the different forwarding agencies requires a high productivity with low costs. Machines are believed to be safer because they always make the right decisions, so human errors are history, as example a driver who drives the whole night without sleep will get in danger to fell asleep momentarily and will have serious consequences like a severe car accident.
